Yesterday I corresponded with a sister in West Virginia who decided to send out a personal invitation to dig, to every woman in her congregation. In this congregation of 100 people, this sister was about halfway through inviting her 53 women and, as of yesterday afternoon, 18 of those she’d already invited had agreed to participate in the Digging Deep study.
Sometimes it just takes a little courage and time to do something in a church that’ll culminate in real growth and progress toward heaven. Sometimes, it’s women in the Word who are doing much to keep the Revelation 2-3 candles burning in congregations where the devil would love to gain a foothold. It surely doesn’t have to be Digging Deep, but it does have to be our knowledge of and adherence to the Word that keeps us sanctified. Jesus prayed “Sanctify them through your truth. Your Word is truth.”

Diggers in Jackson, Tn. Maybe I’ll soon get a picture of the new WV group!
I only know two women in the church in this small town in West Virginia (and I only met those two a few days ago at Polishing the Pulpit. One of these two was baptized at PTP!) I don’t know the elders or the schedule of services or anything about the community. But I know this church will be stronger from its women being in the Word. In this case, those who are joining the study are inviting others. I can’t wait to hear what comes from these 53 invitations, once they are completed! I’ve just seen the power of the good book in families and congregations over and over again. It changes lives, families and churches!
So I hope you can invite. The study officially starts September 1st…next Tuesday. Here’s another excerpt from The Hand of God. I’m so thankful the hand put on flesh!
And then there was that magnificent time that God, the Son, spent gestating in a human womb and actually did put flesh on the hand of God. That tiny hand of God put on everything my hand has:muscle and sinew, bone and flesh, nerve and nail. He became like me (John 1), so that I could become like Him. He literally took the hands of a man, so that I could figuratively take the Hand of God. How blessed were Mary and Joseph and Peter and John, Mary and Martha, and John the Baptist to be able to grasp the hands; both the hands of flesh and the Hand that is sovereign in the realm of spirits!
The “shipping department” takes a short break! He’s so busy!
