So Many Digging Deep Groups! Who knew?!

The past week has consisted of very long days and, at the same time, a very short week! We packed so much in, and yet, it seems like we just arrived at this busy, utopian gathering that  now happens twice a year. Polishing the Pulpit is a six day conference for Christians held in July and August in Branson, Missouri and Sevierville, Tennessee, respectively. I’m so thankful for the encouragement and growth afforded me every time I get to be part of either conference. I’m praying for the directors and elders who oversee this great arm of God’s work in the 21st century. It’s a massive undertaking, requiring attention to thousands of details and yet demanding diligence to keep the main thing, the main thing. PTP never disappoints. Christians go home very tired (Glenn and I are going to sleep very soundly tonight!) and yet with strengthened and energized spiritual muscles. If you’ve never been, I hope it’s on your bucket list and you should go ahead and move it to the top of that list! In fact, go ahead and register for Sevierville in August (www.polishingthepulpit.com) or make plans now for Branson next summer.

Digging Deep was everywhere at this convention. If I had to predict, at this point, I think we will have more diggers this year than ever. That’s such a grand phenomenon because God is doing this through His convicting and comforting Word. Please keep praying that His Word will be the exalted entity in all of the great fellowship we have together as we dig. Please keep inviting others to join you and pray that the end result will be souls in heaven. That’s the worthy goal of all that happened in Branson this week and of all we do as sisters.

This week, as I saw so many people from the other side of the great Mississippi River, I came to know that the numbers of diggers who are meeting together in groups is legion! For that reason, I am going to list, for you, in the next few days, lots and lots of groups, just in case you are studying alone and are wishing for local or zoom support. This list will also encourage you. I knew that there were some groups around the nation, but I had no idea how many! This list will be full of digging blessings for us all.

Here are a few to start. Watch this blog for the whole list!

  1. This is an online group and these sisters are diligent. They zoom no matter where they are. Deirdra Miller is the contact and her email address is deirdrajm@gmail.com. The “brains” you pick here are mature and loving.
  2. This one is in Crossville, TN, meeting typically on the fourth Thursday evening of each month. Contact is 931-484 5297. They meet at a church building. Crossville is an hour west of Knoxville and 40 minutes east of Cookeville on I-40.
  3. There is a group meeting at the West Huntsville church building in Huntsville, Alabama. We typically meet once a month and typically on the evening before the podcast. There is a facebook group called North Alabama Digging Deep Bible Study Group, where info is listed each month. Contact is cindycolley@gmail.com.
  4. There’s a Woodstock, Georgia group, meeting once a month in the home of Jan Dmytrowitz. This group meets on a Tuesday night toward the end of each month. Contact number is Jan at 678-485-7720. This group has a groupme account for reminders.
  5. There’s a very large facebook live group coming from Julie Orr’s living room in Midland TX. Locals meet at her house weekly on Mondays and many more join virtually. This group takes deep dives as well. The group is called Mama’s Monday Moments and they are easily found using this tag on FB.

More next time. Stay tuned and stay in the Book! More sessions will be forthcoming in August from Sevierville. August podcast will be live from there! And thanks from a deep place for all the encouragement from Diggers everywhere!
