Mama’s K.I.S.S. #83: T-shirt Designers

As you know, if you’ve been reading, for quite some time, I’ve occasionally been running little installments called “Mama’s K.I.S.S.” I know that lots of readers could give many more and far more creative ideas than I can offer, but these installments are just a few tried and true and mostly old-fashioned ideas for putting service hearts in our kids.  This is number 82 of a list of one hundred ways we train our kids to serve. K.I.S.S. is an acronym for “Kids In Service Suggestions”.

It’s t-shirt season and affordable advertising t-shirts are a great way to open conversations when you meet people in your community. I’ve been a part of more than one congregation whose beautiful t-shirts were designed  by teens in the church. I even have one in my collection that was an ad for a VBS, designed by a child. The artwork is precious and is a true conversation-starter!

Just get your child drawing, lettering, and/or painting and then get the design to a local company or a big mailing company like 4 Imprint. The more you order, the less expensive they are. I’ve found that the members love to buy these and, usually, the leadership in the church is excited to have this form of “free” advertising going out in the community. And then the conversations about meeting times, and fellowship opportunities and your youth group, etc…begin. It’s like you get to wear a sign that says “Talk to me about the Bible!”  And then…you never know!

On the fourth day of Digging Deep…

On the first day of Digging Deep, this digger got to  see… A new deluxe edition for me…

On the second day of Digging Deep, this digger got to see…two giant swag orders and a new deluxe edition for me. 

On the third day of Digging Deep, this digger got to see …three posted dig-a bits, two giant swag orders and a new deluxe edition for me.

On the fourth day of Digging Deep, this digger got to see …four sample screen-prints, three posted dig-a-bits, two giant swag orders, and a new deluxe edition for me.

Several have asked about prices if groups are trying to get the orders together before a representative comes to PTP. The single Digging Deep spiral-bound book price is $20.00. For orders of six or more, the books are $18.50 each. We will, once again, have t-shirts with this year’s theme on them. The cost of this Comfort Colors  t-shirt will be $21.00. (The only t-shirt size that is unavailable in Comfort Colors is the 3X, so that one will be an “upscale,”very nice Hanes–same price.) A book and t-shirt bundle is priced at $38.00. We will try to bring various swag items, including a limited number of hoodies with us, too (but I LOVE hoodies, so we have to have those! =)) The hoodies will be $34.00. I haven’t seen the finished product in the shirts or hoodies, but I’m thinking they are going to be pretty cute, as well as great evangelism conversation starters. And don’t forget there’s a free download of the study. No one has to pay to “do” Digging Deep. All items will be online at reveal time which is August 17th at approximately 1 pm, EST.

I’m excitedly counting down. Including some podcast tapings and a children’s lesson, I have 11 lessons at PTP,  for which to prep. I need to quit ordering t-shirts, making dig-a bits and taping reveal videos– and study! But DD is a lot of fun this time of year! Bring on the pumpkin spice and the DD! It’s almost fall!

Order your Shirt/Hoodie before Midnight Tonight!

I want to once again, thank the diggers for your patience. Only one of you has reported Glenn to PayPal for non-delivery. Hoping the rest of you will decide not to do that yet! He’s working so hard and those of you who have ordered books only (not t-shirts, mugs, etc…) should be receiving those any day now. Most have already received if you ordered on (or near)  August 19th. A phenomenal number of you ordered t-shirts this year and that’s great, but we are on our third shirt order. That’s a great problem to have, because shirts are fun advertisement for our great study, but your box may be waiting on a shirt. For that reason, I am going to try to go ahead and order (with our screen print company)  the LAST batch of shirts at this time. Please order your shirt or hoodie by midnight tonight, September 11th, from the website. If you already ordered your shirt or hoodie, please don’t reorder.

Your package could also be waiting on your mug. I expect those at my doorstep tomorrow (and I can’t wait to see this new color,) so hopefully we can complete all shipping this week. That would be so grand on our end, because we feel your “wonder-where-that-is?” and we want to reach out to each one of you. For those who are asking about first month’s assignments, don’t forget you can look at that on the free download in the store at www.thecolleyhouse.org.

You will be seeing the dig-a-bits begin this week and there will be four of those monthly.Those are little audio blurbs about the study.  The first podcast will be on September 26th at 7 CST and we will be announcing then the podcast schedule for the remainder of the year. 

So hang in there with your shovel. (I’ve been making those bracelets and keychains, too! They are really pretty fun to put together.) Your stuff is coming and, as always, we are thankful for the kind of women you are. Your hearts and diligence are an amazing wellspring of encouragement in our lives. Frankly, when I (rarely, but occasionally) think I can’t go on putting one foot in front of the other, Digging Deep calls to me, both through the Word and through your encouragement and hunger for that Word and then I ask myself “Who am I to get to do this with these amazing servants of our infinitely more amazing God?!”  It’s a privilege for which I did not go looking, but a wide-open door that God put right in front of me. I’m so thankful.

If you are before the throne and can think of it, please pray for our family in the coming weeks. I am speaking so many times (24, I think) between now and the end of October and there are some other pretty large and looming responsibilities on the plate. I do know, though, that my cares are small when compared to some of yours and I am before the throne often in behalf of diggers. You make me stronger and heaven with you is going to be wonderful!

Discovery in the Basement

Things have been a bit chaotic down in the book room (and all other rooms at the Colley House) for the past few months. During the holidays, while pulling out and wrapping gifts, I found a box of t-shirts. They were still in the taped box from the company that made them, so they’re still new. Does any one still need a current DD shirt? I have the following limited sizes and quantities. If you want one, just comment below. I’ll respond if I still have your size and then you can PayPal or send a check. These t-shirts will be 18.00, but that will INCLUDE the shipping and handling and any tax/fees. (I guess this is why I had such a hard time filling the bill last fall for the larger  and teeniest sizes.)

These are light blue with red. They are comfort colors and the word “comfort” is accurate. All are adult sizes.  Just let me know!

You bought them up!…Only a few smalls left.

Here are the ladies (list below) who will be getting shirts. We are trying to mail these out today. Some of your orders are just partial orders. Just had to do the best I could on these. On a much more sober note (than t-shirts),  I love what Jesus and the Spirit said to the church in Sardis. I cling to this in 2021. Let’s be overcomers together. May all the names on this page and all the diggers’ names be confessed. I want to be confessed. Above all, I want to be confessed and get that white clothing! White has never been my color, but it is GOING TO BE!

Who wants a t-shirt?

Who wants a T-shirt? 

We have a very limited number of t-shirts left from our September order and this bargain-blessed basement needs ANY items gone! You can order your Digging Deep 2021-22 shirt today for just $11.00 plus shipping by sending your name and mailing address to byhcontest@gmail.com. The sizes I have are listed below. I’ll post a list here tomorrow of those ladies who were first to respond and are receiving a shirt via USPS.

I hope the shirt works for your wardrobe, but mostly for your evangelism. I have already heard of several people who’ve been able to start Biblical conversations  just by wearing the shirts. I’ve also heard of people who find other diggers in random places (like thrift stores) when they wear the shirt!

Mostly, don’t just wear the shirt. Wear the Word it represents. Wear the Savior who is speaking to us through the book of John. Be hidden in Christ (Col. 3:3)!
