I love all the diggers, but these sisters and at least this many more West Huntsville diggers, who were too busy doing other good things last Sunday to make it to the photo-op, are some blood sisters that I esteem, admire, and love to the throne! Almost all these ladies have done podcasts with me, and all of them have served as major encouragers along the way.
From left to right on the front are Melissa Davidson, (mom of three, who’s about to become a preacher’s mother-in-law and who’s a great organizer and podcast side-kick and kids’ teacher), Jessica McClurg, (a recent transplant to Alabama, mom of four boys, chef, baker, and teacher extraordinaire), and Shannon Bond (church secretary, mom of two young adults, a kids’ teacher and johnny-on-the spot for every need). On the second row, beside me, is Emily Anderson, (kids’ teacher, mom of three boys, who’s grieving and celebrating at the same time, the recent graduation of her twins, Ben and Noah from her home school, and who works beside her husband as he leads the youth at West Huntsville). Then there’s Jen Crowden, (Emily’s mom, who is my nearest neighbor in this bunch and is always looking for ways to serve), Lisa Holmes, (mom of two adult children/grandmother of seven, who serves beside her husband as he shepherds our flock and she also does a bajillion other good works, including being a great children’s teacher and heading up our food program), and Mandie D’Herde, (mom of three, who is in my texts almost every week just to encourage, and she’s also a great kids teacher and very evangelistic!)
I love these seven sisters and the ones who didn’t make it to room 119 in time for this shot. There wouldn’t be a digging deep without the locals who help in ways I could never even enumerate. Jennifer Benavides, Lindsey VanHook and Flori Barber are big time and talent contributors to Digging Deep. Jessica Weaver heads up the local study FB page. Jen Crowden, Emily Anderson and Holly Smith (I’m still going to count her as a local) have already said “Let me help at PTP!” I never could shout enough vocals for the locals, but they are amazing. And they would all say “I don’t do anything. To God be the glory!”
