You want this book for your daughter. If you are one of the young ‘Bless Your Heart” readers (and there are lots), you want it for YOU!
If you’ve read the other two volumes, I don’t have to tell you that you’re going to love this new book “Following Him” by Rebekah Colley. But each book stands alone and is perfect for personal or class use. And you are going to love it. This one is my favorite, so far.
In each chapter, Rebekah takes something from the life of Jesus and brings it to life for young women. Then, in the “Read” section, she gives passages for them to read on their own. Then every chapter includes a “React” section, in which girls are challenged to think and respond to what they’ve read. The “Reflect” section (my personal favorite) is where the readers think about how to put the current lesson into their daily lives and make choices for the One who chose to be the ultimate sacrifice for them. The final “Relate” section is where young sisters connect with each other and discuss and work through scriptures and applications together.
As Rebekah says, in the introduction, “… if we are people with spiritual eyes, the story of Jesus is full of such glory that it will bring us to our knees. Though we will still recognize the humble and tragic circumstances of the life of Jesus, our hearts will be cut to the core when we see the spiritual beauty that is woven throughout His story. The story of Jesus is one of remarkable strength, enduring patience, wisdom and knowledge, unfathomable sacrifice, and unmatched love. The theme we will revisit as we study is this: Physical poverty; spiritual riches.”
I love that theme! In fact, if we can get the truth about poverty and riches into young hearts, we can revolutionize our churches, reaping generational benefits.
But mothers, if you are unable to put this book in a classroom, you can still put it into the hands of your daughters. “If you let it,” Rebekah says “understanding the life of Christ will transform your life, your goals, and your character.”
I don’t want to promote this book because it was written by my daughter-in-law. I want to get it in young, gentle hands because it will make them love Jesus.

It’s a most important and relevant study about THE most important man who ever walked on our planet. From His boyhood to the throne again, He changes young lives. He watches from heaven, now, as His young ones grow and learn of Him. He advocates for them at the right hand of God. I’m surely counting on that, as my grandchildren grow up in a world that desperately needs reconciliation with God.
“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (Romans 5:6-10).
